Our alloys and their characteristics:
6063 - Our most popular alloy. It provides a good surface finish, is corrosion resistant
and can be heat-treated for strength.
6060 - Has better extrudability than 6063. The minimum mechanical properties (with
the exception of minimum welded properties) response to finishing processes and corrosion
resistance is similar to 6063.
6061 - The most versatile of the heat-treatable group. It is provided in T6 temper
for best physical strengths and also T4 temper for excellent forming characteristics. It
also has good corrosion resistance and is used primarily in transportation and structural
applications.
6005 - Mechanical properties are comparable to 6061. This alloy is used primarily
in structural applications. However, 6005 is air-quenched instead of water-quenched
providing better finish and production.
6463 - Designed to accept a bright finish through anodizing or polishing. Mainly
used in decorative trim applications and is also machinable and heat-treatable.
We can supply a tightly controlled temper range from the "as extruded" to the
full hard (T6) temper.
